Kris Gay Homes
Abilene and the Big Country has always been home to Kris Gay. Kris and his wife, Amanda, both grew up and attended school here. Shortly after graduation from Wylie High, Kris headed to South Plains College in Lubbock. While at South Plains, Kris focused on Real Estate courses. During this time Kris started a lawn maintenance company. The company was successful and although he sold it before returning to Abilene, it is still in business today.
Upon returning to Abilene Kris started his Real Estate career. His outgoing personality soon found him busy listing homes, showing properties, and managing rental properties. It soon became evident there was a need for new inventory. Kris grew up in a construction experienced family working on remodels and new builds. The transition to new construction was natural, and he built his first home in 2013.
Kris now works designing, researching, selling, and building quality homes. His mom, Vickey, shares his love of design and sources new finishes, guiding clients throughout the selection process. Her keen eye and sense of creativity help clients know that their homes will have a unique design suitable to their personal taste.
Amanda, Kris’ wife of 21 years, works behind the scenes as needed to help make the building process as smooth as possible. She is also teacher at Wylie High School. Kris and Amanda have two boys, Brooks (19) and Brady (16). Both boys are heavily involved in sports, especially baseball. Most of their family time is spent watching the boys play baseball, hunting, traveling, and supporting their favorite local, college, and professional teams. Last year Kris Gay Custom Homes had a very successful year completing multiple new custom homes, and designed a new upcoming custom floorplan.
Kris and his team all enjoy the building process but agree their favorite part is at the end when all the finishes come together. That’s when he gets to hand the keys to a sweet family and the house becomes a home!
